Once again this year “Spoleto Idee”  (Spoleto Ideas) wishes to represent, besides the artistic events of the Festival, a small space of reflection, practically a metaphoric, silent counterpoint, aiming at confirming the substantial unity of every aspect of this elusive thing we call culture. Between an opera and a poem, a theater play and a page of philosophy, the expressive forms change but the tension of thoughts, feelings, images, and passions that they imply and arouse are identical. And identical is our desire to go beyond immediacy, and give voice to an-other aspect of humanity.
Poetry and a reflection on this most urgent and contemporary issue are at the center of this year’s program of “Spoleto Idee”.

The life and death and great changes that will most probably take place in our democracies due to the economical crisis are the object of these conversations led by Ernesto Galli della Loggia in the presence of important personalities of the Italian landscape hosted for the occasion in Spoleto.
