This year as well, the Festival of 2Worlds meets the school world, attracting young people to the discovery of a cultural identity linked to the creation and development of the Festival of Spoleto.
We are the Festival, in its third edition, is a competition open to pupils of all levels in the town of Spoleto and those of all schools in the Region of Umbria. It is an invitation to search through the memories of family and friends so as to create projects which express the experience: direct experience or reflection on what the Festival of 2Worlds has represented and represents for Spoleto and the territory of Umbria.
The crafts of the Festivals, theme of the 2013 competition, contemplates on how the different roles of those who work for a Festival have evolved, becoming consolidated over the years, or being transformed and giving rise to new skills and professionalism.
The participating students have to collect interviews, old photographs and documents about the Festival. The research and collection of materials is to be followed by single or group work within the class, with the help and coordination of teachers, for the production of creative works that can be of all kinds and forms: written compositions, graphic, audiovisual and digital projects.
The work will be examined by a jury made up of the President of the Foundation Festival and Mayor of Spoleto, the Artistic Director of the Festival and a representative of the Regional Scholastic Office.
The awarding of the winners of the contest (Primary school award, Secondary school award, High school award) will take place on Sunday 7 July at 21:00 before the beginning of the Mark Morris Dance Group show at the Teatro Romano.
