Pocket Opera Barber of Seville

In the evocative space of the cloister of San Nicolò, the young musicians of the Conservatory of Perugia, selected after strict auditions, are giving nine concerts with music of all times and genres, for varied instruments and groups. The baroque choral by Carissimi and Scarlatti and the contemporary oratorio The Little Match Girl Passion by David Lang, for voices and percussion; unusual ensembles like the accordion combined with the sax - and duos, trios and quartets of the great musical tradition of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; the piano virtuoso of Liszt and Rachmaninov and the romanticism of Mendelssohn, Schumann and Brahms; contemporary sound research for solo instruments and voices - and ’ancient’ sonority with a concert by Mozart on original instrument, and finally an unusual Rossini with chamber ariettas for voice and piano, and the Barber of Seville in a crackling transcription for brass quintet.
