PROJECTS FOR PALAZZO COLLICOLA VISUAL ARTS

artistic director Gianluca Marziani

Palazzo Collicola Visual Arts confirms its polymorphous and widespread nature, integrating the exhibitions in the museum with artistic interventions scattered around the historic town. Along the rooms of the Noble Floor there will be the interactive works by Camilla Ancilotto, author of hybrid portraits that transform the game into an open boundary between painting and sculpture. The Collection is confirmed as the Ptolemaic Center of the project, a heritage that evolves across new donations (Beverly Pepper, the most important) and various site specific installations: Veronica Montanino will present the definitive version of her Collicola Café, a sensory journey which envelops the guest in a whirling kaleidoscope; inside the Gardens of Corso Matteotti the giant luminary of Ria Lussi will be inaugurated, a sculpture of light dedicated to Giordano Bruno’s philosophical metaphors; at the train Station a photodigital work by Giorgio Lupattelli will also be presented, a tribute to Spoleto and the values of the Umbria Region, a surreal futuristic journey on the ceiling of the glass hall and on some vertical walls of the waiting rooms. Among the temporary interventions in the heart of the town, we recollect Giuseppe Ripa with a photographic cycle on the open theme of ecology, a project of nine prints with a presence in the museum and an exterior version on Fuller’s Spoletosphere; and then, at SS Giovanni e Paolo Church, Julien Friedler with a mysterious installation among sculptural bodies, sound and light. Palazzo Collicola opens its Collicolab to the public, a museum floor that will host the brand new House of Architecture, the sound rooms of the collective Do iT and a temporary exhibition on the theme of hemp (in collaboration with the Umbria Region, Politecnico of Milan, Museo della Canapa) entitled Fabric-Action. Finally, the appointments with Collicoland (curated by Gianluca Marziani and Andrea Tomasini) continue, with a day dedicated to Charles Simic, one of the greatest living poets, and other days devoted to important names in contemporary culture.
