The austere gray walls of a room at the insane St. Paul asylum. How does a great painter feel in a place where there is no other color but white?
In is the year 1889  Vincent’s only wish is to get out of the asylum. His first hope for salvation lies in his brother Theo, who comes to visit him, on the way changing between four trains and a carriage…
With the unpredictable metaphor of the Vincent Van Gogh  psychiatric isolation, interpreted by Alessandro Preziosi, the play produced by Khora.teatro  in coproduction with TSA teatro Stabile d’Abruzzo directed by Alessandro Maggi become a sort of psychological thriller that culminates in many unexpected disappointments always with the fear of that which will come next.
The intriguing and sensitively built play, earning its author Stefano Massini the Premio Pier Vittorio Tondelli 2005, offers remarkable opportunities of reflections concerning relationships between art and about the role of the artist in the contemporary society.

Suspense, liability, border. Massini’s clear and intrinsically sharp dramaturgy
offers with evidence the possibility of an investigation in that rough and mobile places, internal subjects very difficult to identify, sited in the complex mechanism of human mind. The logical dialogue between Van Gogh and his brother Theo, is not only an objective grand angle on the real life of the artist, but in the same time reveals a submerged level.
The show is an open counterpoint to the pressing dialogical game. Implied. Latent. Van Gogh, subjected and fortuity warped by his own cerebral dynamic appears  in a insane asylum room. Surrounded by devastating neutrality of a void. His desperation is investigated and revealed only in facts. And the tangent that the staging follows is suspended between sense of reality and Its complete opposite in a split where only rules the logic of synesthesia.
