The protagonist of the project The Swing of the 1930s and 40s is the Army Jazz Band of the Italian Army Band. It is a formation composed by 17 musicians (5 Saxes, 5 Trumpets, 4 Trombones, Contrabass, Piano and Drums). Through a historical musical journey, l’ A.J.B. will propose you some evocative Swing orchestrations of that period. The interpretations of the pieces will be alternate with a brief introduction which correlates the development of this music with the history of the Afro-Americans, and the biographies of the great protagonist of Jazz will be narrated with anecdotes and intrigues of that period. The hilarious A.J.B. will make us relive the atmosphere of the roaring years in Chicago and New York, where the clubs had the greatest Jazz orchestras and musicians as guests for dance music.
