Winner of the special mention at the Nastri d’Argento -Documentaries 2018 for being "a tribute to a place which expresses international culture cruising through past and present".

The idea of telling the Festival of Spoleto, now in its 60th edition, in a film to describe its inimitable cosmopolitan and multidisciplinary spirit, was a natural choice as a homage to an important anniversary, a tribute to the beauty of art as nourishment and care. I entrusted the refined director Benoît Jacquot and the experienced documentary maker Gérald Caillat with the task of highlighting the rich history of this Festival, the extraordinariness of its protagonists, its wise vocation which, amidst glamour and provocation, historic theatrical premieres and biting avant-garde interpretations, contributes to the growth and cultural exchange of the whole world. The "allegro" mounting of the film is never chronological. It navigates non-stop between the past and the present in order to create harmony between archival materials and more modern images.
Giorgio Ferrara

The Festival of Spoleto, or the Festival of Two Worlds, celebrates its 60 years of life this year. Created by the Italo-American composer Gian Carlo Menotti in 1958 and directed in the last ten years by Giorgio Ferrara, this unique festival reflects, as usual, the best that Italian and international culture can offer. Similar to Jean Vigo’s film, A propos de Nice, together with Gérald Caillat we have chosen to depict these 60 years of Festival in a poetic form, through radical associations, rhymes and pauses in rhythm articulated by the voice of Giorgio Ferrara, which is perfectly suited to the richness of the polymorphous Festival and the diversity of materials which compose the film.
