He has dominated all the charts with the song Soldi, a double platinum record, and is still in first place as most popular radio song. His first album Gioventù Bruciata has reached the top and continues to remain at the top of the FIMI-GfK ranking. His video Soldi has reached more than 65 million views. The gust of originality brought by the music of Alessandro Mahmoud, known as Mahmood, has managed to conquer a transversal public and been a big hit beyond national borders too, reaching success overseas, with the New York Times dedicating a long article on him.
After winning the 2019 Sanremo Festival, participating in the London Eurovision Party and the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Mahmood will bring his “Good Vibes” to the Festival of Spoleto for an “extraordinary” concert.
Born in Milan in 1992 to an Italian mother and Egyptian father, his music gives origin to a crossbreed of these two worlds. The combination which has been shaped spontaneously, infuses his totally unique and personal music with an intense and enthralling sound. He expresses feelings about himself, yet tells the stories of many young people from his generation.
The Festival of Two Worlds offers the young public the opportunity to participate in the concert of Mahmood, an artist who is a spokesman of the uncertainty and sense of loss of our young people, but also of the desire to never give up on their dreams and ambitions, along with the capacity to appreciate all the positive things which arise from the dialogue and natural encounter between different cultures. A vision shared fully by the Festival.
The concert includes the presence of an exceptional guest on the stage of Piazza Duomo: Dario Faini, known as Dardust, composer, pianist and electronic producer of international fame.
