THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO
or A CRAZY DAY


An intensive and overwhelming plot, where men and women are counterposed in the course of a "crazy day", full of dramatic and comical events. A satire upon the privileged social classes of the time, but also an acute metaphor of the different phases of love, told with great mastery through the verses of Lorenzo Da Ponte and put to music amazingly by the genius of Mozart.

There is an interlace of symbolism, that is even theological, embodied in melodic, polyphonic, choral and instrumental lines, which both physically and spatially simulate the harmony of the spheres that is intrinsic within the structure of the Divine Comedy.

TIM ROBBINS PRESENTS THREE SHOWS AT SPOLETO FESTIVAL

The presence of Tim Robbins at Spoleto59 can be seen in three different performances.
