BMW is the Official Car of the 61st edition of the Festival of 2Worlds. Federico Izzo, Marketing Director for BMW Italy, was personally present in Spoleto to establish this new commitment of the Munich carmaker in support of culture.

THE ’DON GIOVANNI’ OF SPOLETO60 ON RAI 5

Tonight on Rai5 at 9:15 pm, with a replica on June 28 also at 9:15 pm, the opera Don Giovanni by Mozart staged by Giorgio Ferrara, with set design by Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo, the conductor James Conlon and costumes by Maurizio Galante. A new Festival production that inaugurated the last edition.

THE FESTIVAL IS OPENING WITH THE OPERA ’MINOTAUR’

The Festival is opening with the new production of the "Minotaur", an opera in 10 scenes, commissioned to the composer Silvia Colasanti. The conductor of the Italian Youth Orchestra will be Maestro Jonathan Webb.

OSCAR WINNER MARION COTILLARD
IN ’JEANNE D’ARC AU BUCHER’

Closing the event in Piazza Duomo, there is the dramatic oratorio "Jeanne d’Arc au Bûcher" by Arthur Honegger and Paul Claudel, starring the Oscar-winning Marion Cotillard. The Opera, directed by Benoît Jacquot, is conducted by Jérémie Rhorer at the head of the Italian Youth Orchestra, with the Choir and Children’s Choir of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia.

THE FESTIVAL OF TWO WORLDS SUPPORTS THE EXPERIMENTAL OPERA THEATER IN SPOLETO

As a sign of strong solidarity to the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto, which is going through a difficult moment, the Festival presents, on July 3 at the Teatro Romano, its production "Cenerentola Insieme" from "La Cenerentola" by Gioachino Rossini as part of the project " Song for the Valnerina - Participated Opera". The show involves 115 artists, with most of them coming from Valnerina and the areas hit by the 2016 earthquake. An adaptation in which music becomes the "territory" of convergence for different forces and instrument of rebirth.

The world-famous photographer Fabrizio Ferri is the author of the photograph which is the image of Spoleto61. He is also present at the Festival with a personal exhibition that shows a series of shots from 1973 to our present days that portray famous artists and symbols of the entertainment world.

On Monday, April 2nd, 2018 at 18:00 at the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti, the Festival of Spoleto presents the traditional Easter concert with the Orchestra and Choir of the Conservatory "Francesco Morlacchi" of Perugia, conducted by Piero Caraba, upon music by Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert.

NASTRI D’ARGENTO 2018 SPECIAL MENTION FOR THE DOCUMENTARY ON 60 YEARS OF FESTIVAL

THE WORLD ON STAGE. Spoleto 60 years of Festival, the documentary film by Benoît Jacquot and Gérald Caillat, conceived by Giorgio Ferrara, which tells the extraordinary story of the Festival of Two Worlds, has won a special mention at the Silver Ribbons-Documentaries 2018 for being "a tribute to a place which expresses international culture soaring lightly between the past and the present".
