THE FAREWELL FROM GIORGIO FERRARA

“This evening, with the concert in Piazza Duomo directed by Maestro Riccardo Muti, the 13-year cycle of my artistic direction of the Festival of Spoleto ends. The results are for all the world to see, first of all thanks to my extraordinary team of collaborators, the workers, the many national and international artists, the ever-growing public and the public and private supporters who have accompanied me over the years. Personally, I am proud to have started this wonderful adventure in a moment of serious decline for the event and to have managed to bring it back to life with the help of everyone. In this spirit I pass the baton to Ms. Monique Veaute, certain that she will direct this festival as in the best traditions and hopefully with skills of experience and endurance. Good luck to her and to all of us who are on the threshold of an autumn that might not be easy.” (Giorgio Ferrara)

MONINI PRIZE ’A WINDOW ON TWO WORLDS’ 11th EDITION TO LUCA ZINGARETTI AND SPECIAL PRIZE TO ROSA FEOLA

The Monini Prize, a traditional appointment for the Festival, now in its 11th edition, will be held on August 29th at Casa Menotti, the historic place and former home of the composer, now managed by the Monini Foundation and home to the Documentation Center of the Festival of Two Worlds. The jury, which is chaired by the Director of the Festival Giorgio Ferrara and composed of the Mayor of Spoleto and President of the Festival Foundation, Umberto De Augustinis, and the promoters of the prize, Maria Flora and Zefferino Monini, will award Luca Zingaretti with the prize “A Window on Two Worlds ”2020 and Rosa Feola with the Special Prize.

During this temporary lockdown, we have never stopped working, being ready to face the changes and unpredictable fate related to the Covid emergency every day. We cannot stage the program already announced in March, but the new dates and shows presented will guarantee everyone’s safety, as well as, of course, the artistic quality and excellence that distinguishes the event. GIORGIO FERRARA ANNOUNCES THE SPOLETO63 PLAYBILL

“We have worked in order to offer the Festival audience - says Giorgio Ferrara, director of the event - 17 days of great shows. The Playbill is ready and it is my desire to announce it, in this moment of great anguish for Italy and the whole world, and I hope it can help to lift some spirits and demonstrate that Show Business and Culture will never stop. With the hope that the town of Spoleto will once again open its stages to the Arts in all its forms and be staged this year as well, it is a pleasure for me to report that all artists and companies expected continue to express their willingness to be present. Like everyone else, we look forward to hearing good news”. Thanks to the collaboration with Rai Play, the Festival of Two Worlds enters the homes of Italians with some of the works that have inaugurated its latest editions.
