Fondazione Carla Fendi
Art & Science into Spoleto
Video & Talks
Introduced by biographical testaments presented by two remarkable names of the international theater, films, produced by the Fondazione Carla Fendi and directed by Gabriele Gianni, about the artists Sol LeWitt and Anna Mahler, focusing on the atmospheres, cultural, historical and aesthetic influences that fuelled their creativity in Spoleto. Art, but also Science. A pairing with which the Carla Fendi Foundation illustrates its firm belief that there is no distinction between these two worlds. “Two opposing cultures”, seemingly distant but, in reality, united by their inherent perceptive, emotional and intuitive creativity. The opening event also hosts Vittorio Gallese, neurocognitive scientist whose research identifies brain mechanisms underlying the aesthetic experience. For the entire period of the Festival, the façade of the Teatro Caio Melisso Spazio Carla Fendi will feature a large mural depicting a close-up of a reproduction of Sol LeWitt’s Wall Drawing #1119. A sculpture by Anna Mahler will be placed in the foyer.
Event hosted in the Festival program and organized in artistic and economic autonomy.
