An exhibition in two locations – at the Carducci municipal library and the Spoleto Section of the State Archive – recounting the links between Dante and the the ancient Duchy of Spoleto. The many volumes and objects on display include a precious incunabulum dated 1484 which contains the Commedia and a commentary by Cristoforo Landino, illustrated editions of the Commedia from the 16th century, maps from the 16th and 17th centuries and 14th-century fragments of the Commedia recently discovered at the state archives in Spoleto and the municipal archives in Cerreto di Spoleto and Norcia. One section of the exhibition at the Palazzo Mauri is dedicated to texts from the Carandente library exploring Dante’s influence on twentieth-century artists, including filmmakers.
