Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica Silvio d'Amico
European Young Theatre
The Festival dei Due Mondi has always promoted young talent, new works and new leading lights of the theatre world. This year, it hosts the theatre series “Academy Project”, organised by the Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica Silvio d’Amico and aimed at presenting the best works of 2020 and 2021. In its 8th edition, the European Young Theatre – which brings together directors and students of the most important international schools – gives performances in which the group’s members choose a Dantean tercet and go head to head in a competition. The Teatrino delle 6 Luca Ronconi hosts Marivaux’s Le false confidenze directed by Valentino Villa, while the Rocca Albornoziana hosts courses by Massimiliano Civica and the shows Judith Thompson’s Il palazzo della fine directed by Antonella Lo Bianco and Jean Genet’s Le serve directed by Marco Corsucci with the supervision of Arturo Cirillo. Michele Monetta presents his Mask 7 mime performance, and Andrea Baracco directs Anton Čhekhov’s Ivanov.
The Compagnia dell’Accademia performs three productions: Molière’s Il misantropo directed by Arturo Cirillo, Francesco Petruzzelli’s Delicatessen directed by Andrea Lucchetta, and John Steinbeck’s Uomini e topi directed by Luigi Siracusa.
The program also includes, at Teatrino delle 6 Luca Ronconi, the winner of the Andrea Camilleri Award for young artists, which is named after the writer, director and screenwriter who was both a student and a teacher of the Academy, and dedicated much of his life to training young actors and directors.
