Manual skills lost to smartphones can be relearned, the value of artistic craftsmanship can also be experienced firsthand. The first widespread edu-tainment project on costume is born at the Spoleto Festival. Conceived and curated from Fabiana Giacomotti, costume historian and editor of the fashion culture insert of the "Foglio," the project includes - in addition to to a small comparative exhibition of costumes from performances of "Pélleas et Mélisande" from the main national theater museums and made by Italian and foreign designers - a series of workshops in the Monumental Complex of St. Nicholas, upon registration, open to the public, to learn the value of costume in the relationship between text and music and learn to create a stage accessory that they can take with them. The project, although on the basis and materials of the highest quality, is developed in a logic of upcycling: leathers, fine fabrics, leather, are in fact scraps, remnants, offcuts from the processes of making high fashion garments and accessories, and come from the factory of Ermanno Scervino, from the prototype archive of Lineapelle, from Rubelli, and from the Consorzio Cuoio di Toscana.
