A traditional appointment for the Festival, the Monini Prize "Una finestra sui Due Mondi" is now in its fourteenth edition. Established by the Monini family in 2010, the award is presented from Maria Flora and Zefferino Monini to nationally and globally renowned artists, along with a "special award" dedicated to young emerging talents present at the Festival.
It is Luca Marinelli - to Spoleto with An Affair for an Academy, his first stage direction - the fourteenth "Portrait at the Window" character in Casa Menotti.
The Prize immortalizes a famous gesture by Gian Carlo Menotti, who to each edition used to look out to greet "his" audience from the first-floor window of the 15th-century palazzetto in Piazza del Duomo where he lived. The same window from to which today, since 2010, great Italian and foreign artists have been portrayed, a gallery of photos that includes names of the caliber of John Malkovich, Adriana Asti, Mikhail Baryšnikov, Willem Dafoe, Tim Robbins, Claudio Santamaria, Juliette Gréco, Alba Rohrwacher, Victoria Thierrée Chaplin, Stefano Bollani, Luca Zingaretti, Massimo Recalcati, and Angélique Kidjo.
The tradition of the Special Award "A Window on Two Worlds" for young talent also continues. to receiving it is pianist Constance Principe to Spoleto with Harawi Song of Love and Death.
