Synopsis
The award-winning choreographer and bailaora Rocío Molina appears for the first time at the Festival dei Due Mondi alongside bailaor and percussionist José Manuel Ramos Oruco, presenting her striking new work, Ejercicios hacia el alivio. This compelling piece – part performance, part laboratory – invites the audience into Molina’s creative process, poised delicately between improvisation and artistic inquiry.
Recipient of the Leone d’Argento at the Biennale di Venezia in 2022, Rocío Molina is widely regarded by international critics as the foremost flamenco dancer of our time. An extraordinary performer and choreographer, she has forged a distinctive artistic language that fuses technical virtuosity with contemporary exploration and conceptual daring. Unafraid to engage in dialogue with other disciplines – from cinema to literature, from philosophy to painting – she creates singular works in which flamenco is continually reimagined while remaining true to its roots.
