Synopsis
Flora Yin-Wong is a sound artist who uses rudimentary field-made recordings, granular synthesis, traditional instrumentation backed from influences from club culture. In early 2023, she launched a label and publishing house, Doyenne, publishing anthologies that include works by the likes of McCalden, former Mahler & LeWitt resident, writers Mira Mattar, musicians Lucinda Chua and Lisa Lerkenfeldt, and others. It has been presented in international galleries such as Palais de Tokyo to Paris, MACRO Rome, Fondation Beyeler Basel, Triennale Milan, Somerset House, The V&to Museum and Cafe OTO London, ISSUE Project Room New York, VolksbĂĽhne Theatre Berlin, Spielhaus and SHEDAlle Zurich. This year he will release a piece commissioned by the Parsian Sound Institute INA GRM that was developed and performed on their to 48-channel speaker system together to artists such as Stephen O'Malley, Puce Mary and Jim O'Rourke, and Eiko Ishibashi.
