Synopsis
Three of the most visionary string players of our time – Laurie Anderson, Eyvind Kang, and Martha Mooke – come together for an artistic residency at Mahler & LeWitt Studios to present their new work, SPIN, to the audience of the Festival dei Due Mondi. Three deeply innovative voices, each redefining the expressive boundaries of the violin and viola, converge in a project that promises a rare intensity of sound.
A towering figure in avant-garde performance and storytelling, Anderson weaves human experience and technology into a lucid reflection on relationships in a mediated world. Kang moves effortlessly across experimental, classical, and traditional music, exploring microtonality and sonic ritual. Mooke, a pioneer of the electric viola and a Grammy Award winner, has forged an eclectic path through collaborations spanning a wide range of artistic worlds.
In SPIN, their trajectories merge into a shared language, shaping an immersive experience that is unmistakably and radically contemporary.
