Today, May 9, starting at 9:30am, the Aula Magna of Palazzo Gallenga hosted the meeting “The Song of the Earth. Sustainability and Inclusion for Art and Culture”: the University for Foreigners of Perugia and the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto continue their collaboration, proposing a day of reflection on sustainability and inclusion for art and culture.

Inspired by the title of the next edition of the Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi, dedicated to Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth) by Gustav Mahler, the meeting reflects on the importance of transmitting art and culture through inclusive policies, methods and choices. Some of the most significant projects carried out in collaboration with the territory and with schools were presented. The opening speech was entrusted to the president of the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) Marcella Mallen and to Dr. Mario Mattioli for the Regional School Office. The Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi was attended by the President of the Andrea Sisti Foundation, Marco Ferullo (Communication Manager) and Davide Pl( Development, Sustainability and Promotion), and the University was attended by Stefania Tusini and Alice Aguiari, moderated by Prof. Maura Marchegiani (President of the Degree Course in Social Sciences for Sustainability and International Cooperation).

This day of reflection will be followed, in a perspective of continuity, by a practical and recreational event, organized by the Students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, which will take place on 19 May at the University Campus, dedicated to the care and cleaning of the Park. The presentation event allows an evolution of the collaboration started, in continuity with the first conference organized at the university in 2024 and called “Educating for culture, Umbria as a model of cultural sustainability”. The meeting is also part of the process of joint enhancement of the cultural excellence of the territory, representing a further opportunity to consolidate the link between the Festival and the academic world.
