Synopsis
The Spoleto State Archive Section is promoting new research into the history of the Festival dei Due Mondi. A conference and an exhibition will offer an initial synthesis of studies developed in recent years by several Italian universities, alongside the display and reorganization of press reviews, photographic archives and archival collections from city institutions.
Institutional greetings will be delivered at the conference by Andrea Sisti Mayor of the Municipality of Spoleto and President of the Festival dei Due Mondi Foundation; Daniele Cipriani, Artistic Director of the Festival dei Due Mondi; Caterina Fontanella Archival and Bibliographic Superintendent of Umbria; Cinzia Rutili Director of the Perugia State Archive; Luca Benedetti, President of the Order of Journalists of Umbria; Giovanni Parapini, Director of Rai Regional Office for Umbria.
Speakers include Antonella Manni Art historian and journalist; Paolo Bianchi Head of the Spoleto State Archive Section; Donatella Orecchia, Eleonora Luciani, Rodolfo Sacchettini, professors at Tor Vergata University, Rome (PRIN 2022 Theatre Festivals between Local and Global. Rethinking Theatre and Performance in Italy from the 1950s to the 1970s). Presentation of essays on the Festival dei Due Mondi published in the scientific journal "S/Confine." Moderated by journalists Antonella Manni and Moreno Cerquetelli.
