Spoiled

Spoiled is based on real stories of violence against women, narrated from a male perspective and performed by female artists. The work exposes the role of patriarchy in perpetuating misogyny, showing how the male voice can colonise and overwrite female experience. It seeks to reveal how rigid gender roles generate unspoken suffering for everyone, encouraging men, too, to reflect on the roots of gender-based violence. The dramaturgy weaves together stories from India, Turkey, Chile, and the United States, addressing issues such as campus rape, military violence, female infanticide, and early marriage.
