Spoleto Festival come tema di ricerca

The Section of the State Archives of Spoleto continues to promote research on the history of the Festival dei Due Mondi conceived and founded in 1958 by Gian Carlo Menotti, who defined it as “A festival of a new kind where the youth of two worlds meet”, an event destined to change the course of the history of a city and to revolutionize the idea of creating culture at national and international level. Through a conference and an exhibition, it is intended to offer the framework of the lines of research activated in recent years on the subject by some Italian universities in parallel with the exploration and reorganization of materials and archival funds preserved within the city's institutions; an anthological exhibition of documents traces some highlights of the first seven years of the event, from 1958 to 1964.

The exhibition “Spoleto, the first seven years of the Festival dei Due Mondi”, curated by the Section of the State Archives of Spoleto, is set up in the premises of the archival institution (Largo G. Ermini, 1), open from June/July until September 30, 2025.
