Synopsis
Born in 2007, the young cellist Clara Yuna Friedensburg made her debut at just eleven years old in Norway and later performed with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in Sweden, where in 2025 she received the Polstjärne Prize. This recognition adds to a long list of achievements, including the Prix Young Artist of the Year 2024 awarded by the Festival der Nationen in Bad Wörishofen, which led to her German debut as a soloist alongside Tarmo Peltokoski and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen. She has appeared at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Verbier Festival, where she participated in the soloists’ program as a Junior Student. Since October 2024, she has been studying with Frans Helmerson at the renowned Kronberg Academy and is supported by Talent Norge’s Podium program.
For the Festival, Friedensburg presents a program devoted to German Romanticism, from late Beethoven to Brahms, including the Romances of Clara Wieck, together with the pianist Martina Consonni from Como.
Described by András Schiff as “an exceptional pianist and a rare talent,” Consonni made her debut at the age of ten with the Bacau Philharmonic, launching a brilliant career both as a soloist and chamber musician. In this capacity, she collaborates with internationally renowned artists such as Gautier Capuçon, Steven Isserlis, and Tabea Zimmermann, and regularly performs in a trio with violinist Sarah Jégou-Sageman and cellist Jeein You.
After studying with Enrico Pace at the Imola Academy, she furthered her training with Arie Vardi in Hannover and with András Schiff in Berlin and at the Kronberg Academy, where she met Clara Yuna Friedensburg.
