This performance is the prelude to the second movement of our project on monstrosity that will be entitled “Frankenstein (a History of Hate)” Daemon is one of the many negative terms with which the creature is called in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein... The second Act will be about that terrible click that converts love into hate, benevolence into violence; about that jam in the love mechanism that causes a reversal with irreversible consequences. It will focus on the creature's 'becoming villain': on how a being without identity, without history, only like a deer, hunted down, makes a world of its own and rebels. Digging into the origins of hate and the inestimable pain inevitably connected to it — because those who hate are never happy — Shelley traces a new geography of terror, which resonates too much today, in these dark times...
